Hibiki Tachibana | Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Character:

Character Name: Hibiki Tachibana
Canon: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Canon Point: Post XV
Digimon Partner: Jyarimon, Sunmon, Coronamon. They have a very feisty personality and are almost constantly ready to fight, much to Hibiki's chagrin because of her stance on wanting to talk things out first before fighting comes into play, whereas to Coronamon, there is nothing that can't be solved by a good punch. That being said, Coronamon has a good moral compass and typically only wants to start fights for "the right reasons". Something that Hibiki can agree with... but she really wishes that "punching them" wasn't their first and only solution.

History: https://symphogear.fandom.com/wiki/Hibiki_Tachibana
CRAU?: Nope

Personality: Perhaps it's repeating what's said in her wiki page, but Hibiki is outgoing, friendly, and perhaps overwhelmingly optimistic. She is quick to look on the bright side of things, and aims to do everything she can in order to help others, especially if someone is in danger. Hence the reason why she decides to use her Symphogear, so that she can help and save others who are in danger.

Though Hibiki is definitely a girl you don't want to mess with, she never wants to fight unless she absolutely has to, and believes that before fighting, they should talk things out calmly and try to solve the problem that way. That being said, if fighting really is the only option, then her fists are rated E for Everyone.

Though she is usually a shining beacon of positivity, she is sensitive about certain topics, and has a softer side that she tries to hide from others. Whenever it's a problem that concerns herself, Hibiki will try to hide her feelings on the matter and refuses to allow others to see her looking sad—though she does cry easily in the case of hearing touching or sad stories. Thus, it's difficult to distinguish her genuine smile from the smile being used as a facade... though Miku can easily tell which is which. It's a bad habit, but her friends are usually able to help and pull her out of the depressive holes that she digs for herself.

Character:

Character Name: Chris Yukine
Canon: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Canon Point: Post-AXZ
Digimon Partner: Bombmon > Missimon > Sparrowmon. Missimon is an acerbic, bitter character who doesn't see much merit in doing anything. Though she's just a Baby II, she's highly cynical and has a depressing outlook on the world due to not having evolved yet despite having been around for a while. She eyes everyone with suspicion, and doesn't trust easily. Even after meeting Chris, she'll be skeptical of the whole partner thing and won't easily believe that the threats facing them can be stopped.

History: Chris Yukine is the daughter of Masanori and Sonnet M. Yukine, who lost their lives giving aid in a war that also left Chris orphaned. Kidnapped by a human trafficing ring, Chris was subjected to all sorts of testing as well as terrible physical abuse, and forced to undergo hard labor. When she was freed from this, she developed a distrust of adults and a desire to change the world by force; feelings that were taken advantage of by the woman called Finé, who continued her abuse and gave her the power to don an armor called "Symphogear" with the power of a relic called Ichaival. However, she was shown the error of her ways, and ultimately worked to stop Finé and work with the members of the Mobile Disaster Response Corps. (later renamed S.O.N.G.), who accepted her into their ranks and allowed her to make up for her past crimes.

Chris's relationship with her new comrades was rocky, and she struggled to adjust to having people at her side and the new school she was going to. Ultimately, in the crisis perpetrated by the organization F.I.S. and an insane scientist named Dr. Ver, she came close to abandoning her comrades in order to wipe out one of the remnants of her past crimes and stop them herself without putting them in danger. Ultimately, her senior, Tsubasa, showed her the follies of this decision, and guided Chris back to the group. Chris rejoined her comrades, and together with the reformed Symphogear users of F.I.S., they defeated their real enemy, a mad scientist named John Wayne Vercingetorix, and his ambitions.

Some months later, a new crisis emerged in the form of an ancient alchemist named Carol Malus Dienheim, and her artificial servants, the Auto-Scorers, who sought to "dissect the world" as revenge for Carol's father's execution at the hands of an intolerant society. In this conflict, Chris struggled with being a role model to two of the younger former F.I.S. members, Shirabe and Kirika, as well as her fears of conflict taking the lives of everyone she cared about. However, she found strength in her bond with them, and came to terms with it. Eventually, she and the forces of S.O.N.G. were able to defeat Carol, and Chris returned to her relatively more peaceful life as a student.

In the fourth season, Chris is faced with her past literally coming back to haunt her, as she encountered an old friend of her family named Sonia, who Chris had blamed for the accident that killed her parents. In turn, Sonia blamed Chris for taking a drastic measure to save her younger brother, causing him to lose his leg. Nevertheless, Chris was able to reconcile with both of them, and find her conviction to face the latest crisis: a group of alchemists, led by an ancient artificial being named Adam Weishaupt. After allying with his disenfranchised underlings, Chris and her friends were not only able to stop Adam from attaining the power of a god, they were able to save their friend, Hibiki, from a total loss of control.
CRAU?: N/A

Personality: Chris is, on the surface, a very hot-blooded young woman, quick to anger and just as quick to start a fight (though that lessens as the series goes on). She's also passionate and driven, in all the ways that are admirable and potentially self destructive. This manifests in the ways she tends to react to people and in battle. Chris doesn't suffer fools, so she tends to respond to idiocy with anger, sometimes in the form of more extreme aggravation, and other times in the form of over the top yelling. In battle, she can be the most aggressive of fighters, and the lyrics of her songs are a fair degree edgier than those of her comrades. Her manner of speaking is typically coarse, and even being her friend isn't enough to spare you her wrath sometimes, though she never takes it out on someone violently (barring the occasional thrown shoe) unless a person has done something unforgivable.

That's not all there is to Chris, however. As a trauma survivor, who not only lost her parents in an armed conflict, but suffered horrific physical and sexual abuse at the hands of her captors and her abusive role model, Chris can be heavily guarded. It took a good deal of time before she was able to truly open up and trust her new friends, and even then, she was driven to make significant self sacrifice she felt she had to make. This has lessened over time, and as of the third season's finale, she has found that she can be more open, honest, and even a role model to other people. She's even willing to readily use their given names, where before she simply used family names or things like "you" or "idiot". However, this has been with a specific group of people, so new social groups may not be nearly as easy for her to adjust to. At the same time, other people who are survivors or who have had to fight for a living would be people she'd be quicker to open up to, and she'd be less guarded in discussing her past in general, as a result of wanting to do whatever she can to avoid such things happening again.

In terms of other fears and anxieties, Chris has always feared being alone, and while one might dismiss her as a simple tsundere, her behavior is ultimately due to her contradictory tendency to keep people at arms length while simultaneously wanting better for them. She also tends to shirk at physical intimacy, and reacts dramatically to unwanted touching. Close friends can get away with it with little more than yelling, but if it's a stranger, she'll react with anger and fear. Public displays of affection can trigger her ire as well, and she's very repressed when it comes to acting on her own desire in this way.

For all her loudness and aggressiveness, Chris is ultimately a good person. She strives for justice, and has made several self-sacrificing actions across the seasons in the name of the greater good. When she discovered that her actions in the first season had resulted in the deaths of numerous people, she was horrified, and has since sought to atone. I've talked already how she wants to be a role model, as shown when she's attempted to take the "senior" role with others and be a good role model to other girls that are younger than she is. Even Finé, who was responsible for much of the misfortune in her life, occupies a complicated and important place in her heart, and she can't bring herself to fully hate the woman despite having every reason in the world to do so. And for how often friends like Hibiki frustrate and anger her, she's one of the people Chris would give absolutely anything to protect.

Chris is also smarter, more clever, and altogether more put-together than people might assume from her behavior. Despite being brash and hotheaded, she consistently gets high marks in school, and manages to keep a clean and comfortable apartment. She's self sufficient (even if she might be out of shape in some areas), and knows how to act like a professional agent of S.O.N.G. That being said, she also has awful table manners, and has a not-so-hidden love of childish things, like sweets and magical girl shows. This proves that Chris, like anyone else, is a creature of contrasts.

Character:

Character Name: Torin
Canon: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger
Canon Point: Post episode 36, after he's become Kyoryu Silver

Digimon Partner: Pinamon - Puwamon - Falcomon (variant) - Raptordramon - Brachiomon - Ultimate Brachiomon

Falcomon is a brave Digimon almost to the point of recklessness. He tends to be a "shoot first, ask questions later" kind of Digimon. What is restraint? Can you eat it?

History: Link!
CRAU?: He's from canon!

Personality: Torin is first and foremost a mentor. He serves to guide the Kyoryugers as they fight the Deboss. Torin spends a lot of time by himself while the other Kyoryugers are off doing things, and he seems to be curious about the humans. Fortunately for him, the other Kyoryugers frequently leave stuff around the Spirit Base where he spends most of his time, and Torin can be kind of nosy. He doesn't just leave things alone when they're left there, and so he's read a bunch of shoujo manga and watched a bunch of random DVDs that have been left there at one point or another. He doesn't think he's better than anyone else, and even at his advanced age, he still likes learning things about the humans.

He still knows a lot about how interpersonal relationships work. When Souji's having major problems with his parents failing to see eye to eye both with him and each other, it's Torin who steps in and straightens out the situation. He doesn't criticize, but he brings everyone's feelings to light. He's good at defusing tense situations and mediating disputes. And relationships are important to him! He is, as Utsusemimaru once put it, "the sort of man who would sacrifice himself for his friends." He cares deeply for the other Kyoryugers, and he would do anything for them. They, in turn, would do anything for him. He has made more than a few mistakes in his hundred million year existence, and while he has regrets, he doesn't obsess over them. He will, however, do anything in his power to set a mistake of his right.

Above all else, Torin is brave. The Kyoryugers are a team that thrives on bravery to the point that Torin himself becomes the living incarnation of bravery through the course of the series. He will not easily back down from a challenge.

Character:

Character Name: Zenos viator Galvus
Canon: FFXIV
Canon Point: The end of Endwalker, JUST post fight.
Digimon Partner: Punimon -> Tunomon -> Gabumon (black). Fond of fighting and more bold than most Gabumon of his coloration, he eschews stealth most of the time in favor of bold confrontation in an ongoing effort to become stronger than the predators that roam his native areas, partly for himself and partly for other, smaller and weaker digimon. He's perfectly capable of being quiet and stealthy and hiding when he must, but sneaking around won't teach those bigger, meaner digimon what for! He has a kind heart for all that he tries to pretend otherwise, and is fond of meat to the point of easy bribery.

History: A link.
CRAU?: No.

Personality: Zenos is ... not ... entirely capable of most emotions; he simply doesn't feel them. There are some, at least; he displays arrogance and selfishness and callousness readily enough, but his upbringing and the realities of his heritage have left him rather incapable of socializing properly with pretty much anyone he could ever encounter. He understands how to fake it, knows exactly how he SHOULD act in any given situation as demanded by society, it simply doesn't actually matter to him most of the time. He is fully capable of restraint and exercises it often in that people actually often survive encounters with him ... if only because the vast majority of life is simply beneath his notice. He has known, absolutely, from childhood's hour that he is superior to everyone around him and has had the skills and power to prove it whenever the whim took him, which means he views pretty much anyone with an eye of disdain and bland boredom and treats them accordingly. This isn't to say he dislikes people either, exactly. That would take more personal investment and regard than anyone's actually worth with very few exceptions.

Through the generalized haze of ennui with which Zenos exists, he still prefers the realities and facts of the here and now, with no interest or time to devote to philosophy and high ideals. Such concepts exist as nothing more than tools to be put to use, and he does use them when it suits him - but always on others. Things like loyalty, devotion, honor, faith, heroism, none of it means a thing to him. What does mean something to him are things that might further increase his skill, power or prove to be a challenge. Assuming such a thing turns up and catches his attention, he'll be quite attentive indeed. Something he can touch, can manipulate or work with is something bound by reality and not mental gymnastics is worthwhile, but hand him idealism and meaningless theories and he'll regard it with disdain at best and outright annoyance at worst. His crippled emotional range does have one benefit at least: he's very, very hard to get truly angry. The closest he often gets is the not-quite-loathing he feels for displays of cowardice or failure; these are not to be tolerated in his presence.

Every now and again, under rare and exceptional circumstances, he does feel and display other emotions, such as giddiness, or joy or impatience, resignation and excitement, but these don't happen often and are almost always tied very thoroughly with something that truly tests him to the very limit. And for Zenos, that simply doesn't happen every day. The first person to ever incite any such emotion in him he fixated on, to the detriment of a whole heck of a lot, and he was rewarded for his persistent pursuit in repeated challenges and tests of his ability, each one another glorious spark of elusive glee. It's the only thing that had ever really put his life on the line or simply gave him a goal to chase, and chase he did, right to the ends of the universe. The entire situation allowed him reason to turn to introspection for the first time in his existence, and question his motivations and goals, which in turn drove him to reach the one thing that he thought could finally give him a sense of completion: that one final transcendant fight.

And then he lost.

Having to weigh that second failure against a lifetime of dull unhappiness, and in turn considering whether or not his one Friend would weigh success against a lifetime of heroism and find it worthy, has left a worm of .. doubt. Was it worth it? Was any of it worth it, for that one precious moment? There is as yet, not an answer for him. Ordinarily it would be moot, at the end of the universe and bereft of a way to return..

Character:

Character Name: Elfnein
Canon: Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Canon Point: Post XV
Digimon Partner: I.Terriermon > Galgomon > Rapidmon (Gold) > Rapidmon X-Antibody

History: https://symphogear.fandom.com/wiki/Elfnein
CRAU?: No

Personality:
Elfnein, known as scrap material #11 was created by Carol to work on the Chateau de Tiffauges. Implanted with only the memories Carol wished to discard or thought would be useful as backup along with the knowledge of the needed skills to work on the chateau. Even as a clone Elfnein retained the parts of Carol that she left behind in order to keep living, taking them as her own will and personality and not just as Carol’s memories but as part of her own self and as someone to help Carol. As she worked under Carol’s orders thinking the chateau would be used for the good of seeing their father’s dream come true it was a lie and she was thrown out after finding out; as she was worthless knowing the truth behind what was going on and wouldn’t willingly work on it then.

Wanting to fix the wrong Carol was doing using her own means Elfnein actively sought out people that could help stop what would happen. Providing any help she could, along with any sort of support mentally to members of S.O.N.G that took her in after hearing her situation. They took her in without locking her up, questioning her actions or anything of that nature along with treating her like a normal human and not just a thrown away clone. She was extremely happy with how things went since even though she knew a lot about the outside world from the knowledge implanted in her, had not truly experienced it. During the trip to “train” at the beach Elfnein learned that putting things in to practice yourself even with the knowledge is a hard task. It was only due to Maria encouraging her and saying that strength isn’t just always in fighting but in being able to admit weakness that she finally opened up more. Allowing herself to have fun and act like a normal child instead of a tool used to create destruction. Something she hadn’t been able to experience before and wanted to do more of in order to improve and grow.

Even when Carol revealed that she was viewing and hearing everything Elfnein was doing, that she wanted to be locked away so no one could be hurt due to her. That instead of her own life, other people’s wellbeing were more important and that if she needed to be killed to stop Carol that it would be necessary to take action. Which wasn’t something she wanted to do, but others suffering due to her mistakes was something she couldn’t handle or want to see. Everyone ended up only encouraging her saying it wasn’t her fault and that she was valued and they would stand behind her. Bringing her to tears and seeing that the emotions of others need to be taken into account and not just being thrown away if you’re the problem in the machine.

Overall, Elfnein has a very good sense of right and wrong and wants to show that the world isn’t a place of hate. That there is a lot to see and learn from others and that memories aren’t something that can just be forgotten. Even if she’s a bit shy and can’t fight back with strength there are other ways to help people you care about, which is why she takes her back up role very seriously.
